Bitter gourds are rich in iron, calcium, potassium, folates and dietary fibre. They contain vitamins A, C, B1 and B3, poly-nutrients and minerals such as phosphorous, potassium. They help reduce blood sugar levels and so is ideal for "diabetics". Its anti-oxidant properties help prevent "cancer" and help relieve indigestion and constipation problems.
These are used in making curries, "sabjis", juices, and are used as main course accompaniments.
